The Graphics Fairy

Gardening and flea markets in the summer, quilting and scrapbooking and old movies in the winter. Which is only a few weeks away, by the way. As the gardening winds down (only have my garlic left to plant before October 1st), I will be spending the cool days indoors pulling out photos from the year and putting them in albums. An old black and white movie will be in the background (Laura, The Big Sleep, Double Indemnity, something like that) and a delicious crockpot will be simmering in the kitchen. For those older photo page layouts (a great aunt gave me copies this past year of some pictures of my grandparents I had never seen before!), here is a vintage website with Free graphics! Free!

Doll Clothes

One of my fondest memories from when I was a little girl was the Christmas when I was six. I unwrapped a shoe box wrapped in pretty paper and to my absolute delight my mom had made a whole lot of doll clothes to match my clothes! My mom is an excellent seamstress, and for years she made clothes for my sister and me. Well, that particular Christmas, our dolls matched us. Fun!

If you want to buy brand new fabric to make doll clothes, by all means, do so. But remember, thrift stores (which often support charities) and garage sales will often have clothing at great prices. Just wash up then cut up.

Check out this blog for easy-peasy patterns.
